One of the most effective ways in which law can contribute to combating the triple planetary environmental crisis (biodiversity loss, pollution, and climate change) is within our reach: correct implementation and enforcement of existing environmental legislation. However, on this issue, we are failing: implementation and enforcement of environmental laws is oftentimes reported as insufficient both at international and at national level.
It is vital that the conservation legal community helps in filling this gap by making laws more accessible to stakeholders: public authorities, the scientific community, conservationists, civil society, and even fellow legal professionals who have limited knowledge of environmental law.
As legal experts, we feel the responsibility to address the environmental crisis by making our expertise available to those who need it through these courses.
